The Shri Kanaga Thurkkai Amman Temple proposes to broaden and formalise the permitted uses of its ancillary building. Currently limited to use as a meditation centre, the building’s use restrictions prevent the Temple from offering a wider programme that meets community needs, including:
Daily worship and temple activities
Religious ceremonies
Educational and cultural classes
The proposal will make more effective use of the existing building, strengthen community cohesion, and avoid the need for new development elsewhere.
To ensure a positive outcome for all, the Temple will implement a comprehensive package of measures, including traffic and parking management, event scheduling controls, and community liaison measures to address local concerns and support harmonious integration with the neighbourhood.
